Ben Armstrong, the influential figure behind BitBoy Crypto, has left the company, effective immediately. The reasons for his departure are unclear, but there is speculation that it may be related to his recent engagement with several “sketchy” meme coins, as well as allegations that he sold tokens after promoting them to viewers.
Armstrong has also faced criticism for advocating risky investment trading to casual investors through affiliate links. In a statement on his personal Twitter account, he denied any wrongdoing and said that he was leaving BitBoy Crypto “to focus on other projects.”
The official BitBoy Crypto account has released a statement saying that Armstrong was removed due to “substance abuse” and “emotional, physical and financial damage he has done to the employees of Hit network & the Bitboy Crypto community.”
The statement also said that Armstrong’s digital currency, BEN, will continue to be supported by BitBoy Crypto.
The departure of Armstrong is a major shakeup for BitBoy Crypto, which is one of the most popular crypto channels on YouTube. It remains to be seen how the company will move forward without its founder.
