On October 4, Google announced that it is adding AI features to two of its flagship products: Google Assistant and Android.
Google Assistant with Bard

Google Assistant with Bard is a new version of Google Assistant that is powered by Bard, Google’s AI tool. Bard is capable of generating text, translating languages, writing different kinds of creative content, and answering your questions in an informative way.
With Google Assistant with Bard, users will be able to interact with their personal assistant in a more conversational and contextually aware way. For example, users will be able to ask the Assistant to help them plan trips, search within emails, create grocery lists, and send texts. The assistant will also be able to understand and respond to images.
Google Assistant with Bard is still in the early stages of development, and it will be released to early testers in the coming months.
AI Screen Lock and Wallpapers for Android

Google also announced that it is adding two AI features to Android 14: an adaptive screen lock and AI-generated wallpapers. The adaptive screen lock will change based on current circumstances. For example, if there is incoming bad weather, the screen lock will display the user’s weather forecast widget more prominently.
The AI-generated wallpaper feature will allow users to create wallpapers using an AI prompt. This feature will first be available on Pixel 8/8 Pro devices.
Google’s announcements about AI features for Google Assistant and Android are a sign of the company’s commitment to using AI to improve its products and services. These new features will make it easier for users to interact with their devices and get the information and assistance they need.
