Visa, a global payment giant, is increasing its crypto division by hiring new software engineers. The company has opened several job positions for senior software engineers to help develop and launch new products based on public blockchain networks and stablecoin payments. Cuy Sheffield, the head of crypto at Visa, states that the company has an “ambitious crypto product roadmap” aimed at driving mainstream adoption of crypto technology.
These job positions are based in London and require proficiency in programming, building scalable backend systems, and working with web3 technologies. Visa is also seeking candidates with experience in Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions, Solidity smart contracts, and AI-assisted engineering tools such as Github Copilot. These positions are hybrid, meaning that employees will work in the office for two or three days a week.
Visa has actively participated in the crypto space, partnering with various platforms and providers to enable crypto payments and services. The company has also shown interest in StarkNet, a layer 2 blockchain built on Ethereum, which could make it easier for self-custodial wallet users to make bill payments. Visa’s crypto hiring spree demonstrates its commitment to its crypto strategy and its vision for the future of payments.
